Why Blog Writing is Important

General News

In the early days of the internet, the blog was a means to share information. These were most often “personal blog pages” which covered a diverse range of topics anywhere from how much a durian costs to where to put your money in stocks.

In today’s world, the platform to share information has been taken over by

  1. Social media (Instagram/Facebook/X/Tiktok)
  2. Discussion forums (Reddit/Quora/Discord)
  3. Chat groups (Telegram/Whatsapp/Wechat/Line).
  4. AI generative tools (Chatgpt/GoogleAI/Copilot/DeepSeek or Claude)

When faced by the fragmentation of 1 news platform into almost 7 to 8 platforms, it can be overwhelming to choose where to place your content.

Therefore, the following segment gathers 3 of the key reasons for choosing blog as one of your vital components and how ITechStudio helps with your business:

1) Gathering Data, Information and Statistics

At the core, a blog is still used as the primary form of sharing as it is the easiest to gather Data, Information and Ideas.

Data,Information and Ideas

Websites and Blogs are connected to the suite of google services (Google Analytics/Google Search Console/Google Ads). These analytics show who is visiting the website as well as what they are interested in.

By posting relevant content, corporations are able to see which articles draw the attention of the clients. Henceforth, using the information and data, they are then able to make a decision on what and where to put money in.

Interestingly, blog data can sometimes reveal unexpected opportunities. For instance, someone searching for the latest Universal Studios events in Singapore might land on a blog post like “Top 10 Places to Visit in December,” introducing them to other attractions they hadn’t considered.

With that case in point, you can apply the same logic to any business. The blog is the sandbox for gathering information for new products and trends in the industry, data that are critically valuable.

While there are other benefits and complications of the above, the condensed overview and sentiment is this. The blog is a way to tell the story of your brand and allows you to find your client’s interest based on live information/data.

To illustrate how this is a global practice, refer to this podcast for a quick understanding:

2) SEO and Search Volume

Apart from data and information, most searches are still done on the web instead of a social media platform.

The Singapore Pool has a whopping search volume of 1.5 Million.

While short-form media such as instagram may help in promoting a brand, the first approach to searching for a product is always a web engine (google/yahoo/bing). – Web search holds the largest proportion of search volumes by far among any platform.

Consider this.

You would like to search for an air purifier or search for the most recent bag, the most likely approach would be.

  1. Enter google search
  2. Type “Air purifier” “Bags gucci” “recent bags” “Bag” .
  3. Search and click on the first 10 results for comparisons.

This is exactly where a Blog and SEO is vital. A website that sells bags and has content about the bag will be ranked higher in that top 10 list, almost certainly giving the company a larger chance of a sale or exposure to the public eye.

As with the above point this is a general overview of how seo and blogs work without technical jargon.

*(In seo terms. A blog builds Internal linking/domain authority/Keyword Volume/search intent/structured data and so on… These are learnt by professionals but will not be covered in depth for this article.)

3) Strengthen Marketing Avenues

Given the above, a blog has brought a company far into its branding (brand awareness), gathering data, providing product information, finding the demand and building interest.

The last component that a blog will strengthen is its marketing efforts.

Marketing Funnel

We are familiar with conventional marketing methods, it needs no introduction. It is the thousands of mails that enter our inbox, the mechanical nature of Paid ads and pitches, the one sided push of products onto consumers.

It is in these situations where authenticity is HIGHLY valued. A blog can cater to the “gaps” in a web where content is highly saturated (a large proportion from AI), helping clients to understand your marketing efforts as well as your branding position.

*This article for example would not have existed without the ideas of a human writer/ yours sincerely. (without the influence of CHATGPT.).

The Summary

Overall, a blog:

1) Builds up a repertoire of content

2) Gathers data and information,

3) Provides access to search volume,

4) Builds your marketing efforts

5) Synch down on specific market clients.

But that is not the end, here is a question commonly asked by companies:

Why Can’t SEO Companies Promise a Guaranteed Increase in sales or “rank 1”?

A Blog and SEO is something that cannot be planned too far in advance, it requires one to break the mold, to challenge the status quo with new content (or forecasted content based on what one estimates the trend to be.).

It is a flexible component which is why it is often called a “long term” strategy. The creative component of SEO positions them on the forefront of planning and soft influence (for example getting a massive amount of impressions in a short time).

Unlike sales which sells the product on the spot through cold calling, booths or direct sale, a blog or seo builds the impression of the brand and its voice in the mind of the consumer.

It is the psychological impact where a consumer might go “hey i read this article on this website”, follows the company, and eventually buys the product.

It is this delayed or somewhat non measurable nature of SEO which causes it to be overlooked in the operating structures of a company. Given its non metric-like, multiple objectives and complicated procedures, many marketing and SEO companies offer the intention of a “rank 1” as it is part of the service, though that should not be the only key goal. (Refer to the 5 points above).

To answer the question directly,

“SEO companies do not promise a guarantee as there is no meaningful answer to the question that does not involve explaining the whole process above on how SEO is not a measurement of “rank 1”/sales but an entire system”.

Other than that, this information would also be entirely useless to a client who is only seeking for a service and its underlying mechanisms should be left to the SEO company to understand and manage.
