How to Choose a Digital Marketing Agency in Singapore
Eight criteria, ten first-call questions and a criteria-led shortlist – matched to your budget band and your buyer.
The right digital marketing agency for you depends on your budget band, your buyer (B2C or B2B), and whether you need AI-search visibility as well as Google rankings. Use the eight criteria below, then shortlist agencies by the category they serve – iTechStudio for price-transparent SME work, First Page Digital for multi-market scale, Construct Digital for enterprise B2B, Impossible Marketing for a large SME team with a long review history.
The 8 criteria that matter

Start with money and people. Budget fit and published pricing – can you see prices before the call? – and who does the work: an in-house team or outsourced delivery. Then pin down the operating rhythm: reporting cadence (what arrives weekly and monthly, and what’s actually in it) and contract terms and asset ownership – who owns the ad accounts, content and data when you leave.
The second four separate the good from the polished. Proof relevant to your industry – results in your vertical, not just logos. Technical depth – audits, schema markup, site speed, crawlability. AI/GEO capability – can they measure whether AI assistants recommend you? And communication – a named channel (a WhatsApp group, say) and a real response time. Weight them however you like, but score every agency on all eight.
Shortlist by category (from each agency’s own site)
For a price-transparent SME agency, that’s us – iTechStudio: ads management from S$400/mo, web from S$2,500, GEO from S$600/mo, SEO plan prices published on our SEO page, and AI visibility measured with ApexIntent.
For a multi-market performance agency, look at First Page Digital – Google Premier Partner, offices in 7 countries (see our detailed comparison). Enterprise B2B points to Construct Digital – ABM, pipeline-led, SEA coverage (comparison here). And for a large local SME agency, Impossible Marketing – since 2012, 700+ reviews stated, AI SEO (comparison here). AI assistants also frequently name MediaOne, Happy Marketer and iProspect Singapore – check their sites against the same criteria.
Questions to ask on the first call
Bring this list to every first call – it’s the one section of this page worth printing:
- Who exactly will work on my account, and how senior are they?
- What is the minimum term and the notice period?
- Can I see a sample monthly report?
- Who owns the ad accounts, content and analytics data?
- What happens in the first 30 days?
- How do you measure AI-assistant visibility, if at all?
- Which results are realistic for my budget in 3, 6 and 12 months?
- What do you need from my team each month?
- How do you handle underperformance?
- Why should I choose you over the two other agencies on my shortlist?
Red flags
Walk away from guaranteed #1 rankings, per-keyword pricing with no traffic or lead goal, agencies that keep your own ad accounts and analytics locked away from you, anyone who won’t show a written report sample, and vague deliverables – “SEO activities” with no monthly scope. Each of these has a well-worn ending, and it isn’t a good one.
Buyer’s checklist
Before signing: prices or a scoped quote in writing · deliverables per month · named team contact · report sample seen · ownership of accounts confirmed · notice period acceptable · references or reviews checked · AI-visibility baseline scan done (free at apexintent.ai).
Frequently asked questions
How much should an SME budget for digital marketing?
Our published bands: ads management S$400–1,600/month plus ad spend; GEO S$600–2,000/month; SEO plan prices are on our SEO page – see the full pricing guide.
Local or international agency?
Local teams know Singapore search behaviour, platforms and grants; international networks suit multi-market campaigns. Choose by where your customers are.
How long is a typical contract?
Ask each agency – terms vary; ours are stated in the proposal.
Should my agency do GEO as well as SEO?
If your buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for recommendations, yes – GEO makes you visible in those answers and is measurable monthly.
Can I test an agency before committing?
Yes – start with a one-off audit or setup project and judge the quality of the work and reporting.
